Victorian and NSW MR2 Clubs have held 2 events for MR2 owners to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of MR2 since its production release in 1984.
The VIC club broke the old record of 65 MR2s for its 20th Anniversary and officially counted 93 MR2 attendance for the event which is the biggest MR2 owners gathering in the southern hemisphere. The event consisted of Show ‘n’ Shine with awards, along with the BBQ breakfast followed by raffle draw. With a early start from the club volunteer organisers and support from Shannons Insurance, Alma Doepel Restoration, the event went smoothly and enjoyable. MR2 Owners Club of Australia would like to thank all the attendees, volunteers, organisers and sponsors.
NSW Club had attendance of over 40 cars attended at Al Palmer’s workshop.
Some statistics from the Victorian 30th anniversary events:
- AW11 attendance was 20.
- SW20 attendance was 59.
- ZZW30 attendance was 14.
- There were 29 red, 16 white and 11 black cars.
- Over 80 cars had Victorian number plates.
