On the 30th of May, there will be a run to Bungendore via Mac’s Reef Road

for lunch, then home through Queenbeyan.

   Meet at the srvice station on the Federal Wighway just north of Majura Road

at 10AM, right next to Rydges Eagle Hawk Canberra Resort.

   Looking at having a weekend in Jindabyne on the weekend of the 26th Nov.

Hopefully this will give everyone plenty of time to organise themselves. We’ll

be staying in the Defence Ski Lodge in Thredbo. The price will be $33 per head

per night. You will be required to bring your own linen or a sleeping bag, and

there is a kitchen available for those that want to cook for themselves.

   Meet up on the Friday night and head out for a tour around the mountains

on the Saturday morning. Depending upon the number and duration of stops,

it’s about a 5 hour drive at an easy pace. Although fun, the roads around the

mountains can be treacherous so caution is advised. At that time of year there

will be no requirement for snow chains. It is highly recommended to bring a

camera!

   I’ll post an update as soon as I firm pricing. In the mean time, if people can

indicate their interest, I can firm up bookings. The lodge sleeps 20 (2 to a room)

so will be first in best dressed, though I may be able to organise accommodation

for extras elsewhere if the need arises.

It was suggested that a nice run out at Cooma Rd on the 17th might be a nice easy start to the new year.

Down to Williamsdale on the Cooma road and then come back via the back roads through, Burra, Googong and Queanbeyan then a BBQ lunch at Tony’s place in Ainslie? See map. Below, Would be about 100 kilometres tops.

Meet at the New Museum car park at 10:30am on the 17th.

A quick update to let you know a few things. Elric is overseas at the moment and will be back mid December.

The race project may have found some more parts/another shell. One of our members has one however we need somewhere to store it. I am able to hold onto it for about a month in but do not have any way of transporting it. If anyone has a car trailer and something that can tow it could you please let me know via e-mail: daniel at tantia dot com dot au. With this second shell we should be able to get the suspension sorted out, then all the car needs is an engine and it’ll be up and running!

As some of you may know there is project to get an AW11 going as a race car for the club.

We have purchased one but it needs a little work.

Currently we are looking at another shell for parts however, we do not have space to store this shell.

Saturday November 1st, first weekend of the new month, after driving down to the coast I figured we should all drive down, it was too much fun along that road!
Stop off in Braidwood for lunch at “The Albion” (Newly opened and great!) head down to the coast and I am open here on suggestions to where we head for swimming, so please send through and the most popular place we will head to.

Also mid November (15th? But open to discussion as I want as many people as possible) I would like to organise a go karting event for the club, we need at least 10 to 20 people.
Total cost is $540 for an hour, so the more the merrier, if we get close to 20 people (and bring friends and family) then we can book in for another half and hour for 270.
I need to put a 50% deposit so I will assume for 10 people and require an upfront cost of $30 (even number) by the end of October, so please let me know if you are keen.
So far the date is set as 15th but we can push it to be the first event of December if we can get more people for then)
They are open till 9pm so maybe we can go karting then do a club dinner? Would like many comments on this to lock it in .
