**Schedule**

Sunday 6th September 2020

9am – Meet at Weston Creek Pond Carpark (Kirkpatrick Street, Weston Creek – Google Map Location)
9:30am – Depart
10am – Stop at the Cotter Dam
11am – Tidibinbilla Tracking Station (note: Deep Space Cafe and the Gallery are still closed due to Covid-19)

Obey all road rules. Watch out for cyclists and be courteous to other motorists. No dangerous overtaking.

COVID-19 Restrictions still apply. Please be mindful of the social distancing and hygiene rules.

To help bring business back to bushfire affected areas, let’s visit one of the local town who didn’t receive as many customers in the last holiday season due to the bushfire. I propose visiting Braidwood.  (Relevant – Youtube Video: ABC News on Braidwood rebuilding after NSW fires)

• 9am – Meet at Mount Ainslie Lookout.
• 9:30am – Depart Canberra. It is just over 1 hour drive to Braidwood via Pialligo Ave/Kings Hwy. Alternatively, we can drive via Macsreef Rd/Bungendore Rd.
• 10:40am, Arrive at Braidwood – have brunch/morning tea @ Trappers Bakery in Braidwood. http://trappersbakery.com.au/
• 11:30am – We can drop by Car Models of Braidwood. (Yes, they have MR2 model cars, but it’s expensive) https://www.carmodels.com.au/
• 12pm – depart to Canberra & conclude the event.
• ETA 1:30pm arrive back in Canberra.

Again, safety first, no speeding, no single-lane overtaking and follow all road rules.

Red Cross Fundraising – 12th Jan 2020

Update 7/1/2020 – Given the fire crisis around Australia and our thoughts on those who lost homes and lives, This event will be a Red Cross disaster relief fundraising event.  There will be some “Cotter Run” decals and keyrings available on the day.  All sales / donation will go to Red Cross fund raising. As promised at the Nationals, we are due for a club run. Join us for a casual drive through Cotter Road, visit Mt Stromlo Observatory and drive on Paddys River Road, conclude with coffee at the Tidbinbilla Tracking Station – Moon Rock Cafe.

• Date: Sunday 12th January 2020 – 8:30am ~ 11:30am
• Where: Meet at the Weston Creek Pond Carpark (Access via Kirkpatrick Street, near RSPCA, near Coombs)

• 8:30am – Meet at the Lake in Coombs carpark (Lake with no name). Access via Kirkpatrick Street. Near RSPCA / New McDonald’s Molonglo.
• 9am – Depart, via Cotter Road
• 9:15am – Stop at Mount Stromlo for a photoshoot
• 9:30am – Back on Cotter Road, Drive to Tidbinbilla Tracking Station
• 10:00am – Coffee at the Tracking station
• 11am – The Big Dish photoshoot & head home

MR2 Nationals is coming back to Canberra in 2019.

The dates are 4 ~ 7 October 2019, over the Labour Day long weekend.

More details coming soon as the committee organises the event.
