This site is maintained by the club and contains information about upcoming events, past events so you can see what we do, information about who we are and how you can join in the fun!

We are a group of people linked by our love of this fantastic sports car, the Toyota MR2. The MR2 was in production from 1984 starting as the ‘flying doorstop’ AW11, from 1990 to 1999 as the gutsy SW20 and 2000 to 2005 as the ZZW30, or MR2 Spyder/MRS.

We have a lively and diverse group of members ranging from those interested (and currently competing) in motorsport events though to the more social with everything in between.

We are CAMS affiliated and have members participating in Hillclimb competitions, track days and show and shine events.

We have an event each month and they usually consist of a planned route and a lunch somewhere new, taking in the beautiful scenery, twisty roads and fantastic food across all areas of Melbourne and surrounds. We promote the use of CB radios to keep the banter flowing and events have many different themes and are competitive, social and great fun all at the same time.

We also run weekend events spread throughout the year to locations such as Mt Hotham, The Grampians (October 2010), and the Great Ocean Road. These events can even be interstate in partnership with other MR2 Owners’ Clubs. We have an event scheduled for the Snowy Mountains in November and we also have the MR2 Nationals which is held every two years, previously held in Canberra and in 2009 at Bathurst hosted by the NSW MR2 Owners’ Club. 2011 is Victoria’s turn so stay tuned!

The committee also meets monthly and all members are encouraged to come and direct the club. The committee only exists for its members, be involved in your club and tell them what you want.

Grampians Weekend

This year in place of the Great Ocean Road run we are heading up to the Grampians. The run is taking place on the weekend of NSW and SA labor day INTERSTATERS ENCOURAGED TO COME ALONG!!!!
At this stage the whole ‘town’ has been booked out for the MR2 club for the Saturday night and is available for Sunday night also. Information regarding booking dates and deposits will be given once a better idea of numbers is known. GET IN QUICK as we are sure to fill places quickly.

Date: Saturday 2 October to Sunday 3 October (with an option of staying the Sunday night)
Destination: Dadswell Bridge, Grampians
Cost: Approx $60 per person per night
Accomodation: Accomodation: Old Dadswell Town (who are also providing us with a spit roast dinner)

We will be leaving Melbourne on Saturday 2nd October and heading to Dadswells Bridge. Route to be confirmed closer to the date. A short run will be organised for the Sunday morning followed by lunch, at this point those heading home on the Sunday will leave and any people staying the Sunday night will be free to explore the many great attractions the Grampians has to offer.
